For Starters

The BIBLE:- Genesis:- "God made man in His own image. In the image of God, He made him."

What do you think that is supposed to mean?

Lets take up another question. What are your ultimate desires in life? (not desires like cars, houses, treat etc.)

All of us if we think from within in an unbiased manner will come up with a similar answer.
Here are the things one wants in life:-
  1. The first thing is the desire to live. We all want to live on eternally.
  2. We wish to know and understand everything, in other words have perfect, complete knowledge.
  3. Still not satisfied, we desire to be happy forever. No one likes to suffer due to pain or ill health.
  4. Given these things, next we wish to be absolutely free.
  5. Even that does not end it all, lastly, we desire to be all dominating. To rule and have power over the universe.
How surprising it is that we have just described the attributes of God as we know and has been described in all religions. God is eternal, all knowing, absolute bliss, unbounded illumination, without any pain or sorrow and of, course The Almighty. These attributes are actually the fundamental properties of every individual soul.
This perhaps explains the quotation at the start of this post.

The purpose of one's life is, as has been written in our shastraas, to realize one's soul and experience the Divinity in oneself.
It has also been said that we can realize ourselves (our soul, and God) by three independent routes. Karma (deeds), Bhakti (devotion) and Jnana (knowledge).
So, how is that we are at least seemingly so different from God as far as these (5) attributes are concerned?
Please do reflect and comment on the matter, sit back and dive deep into yourself to find out answers : "for it all lies within".

Thanks Sujoy. :)
Would have been happier though if somebody had commented or criticized my views. My other post was perhaps more thought provoking but ......
Well, perhaps it is the World Cup Fever.
